Stephenie Meyer s-a născut in Hartford, Connecticut în 1973. Este fiica lui Steve şi a lui Candy Morgan. Provine dintr-o familie foarte numeroasă: mai are două surori (Emily şi Heidi) şi trei fraţi (Jacob, Paul şi Seth). Când avea patru ani, familia ei s-a mutat in Phoenix, Arizona. A urmat cursurile universitatii Brigham Young din Provo, Utah, unde a obţinut doctoratul în literatura engleză. Acolo şi-a întâlnit viitorul soţ, Christian, cunoscut drept Pancho, din Arizona. Cei doi s-au căsătorit în anul 1994 şi au trei copii: Gabe, Seth, şi Eli. Majoritatea numelor apar in cele patru carti scrise de autoare.

Stephenie Meyer susţine că ideea ciclului Amurg i-a venit în somn, pe 2 iunie 2003. Transcrierea visului constituie acum capitolul treisprezece al primei cărţi din serie. Romanului Amurg i-au urmat: Luna nouă, publicat în America în august 2006; Eclipsa, publicat în America în august 2007; şi Zori de zi, publicat în State pe 2 august 2008. Stephenie Meyer spunea cu ocazia lansării că vor fi mai mult de patru volume, cu rezerva că naraţiunea s-ar putea schimba. Într-adevăr, primele douăsprezece capitole din Midnight Sun (povestea întâmplărilor din Amurg din perspectiva lui Edward Cullen, personaj al ciclului), pot fi citite în engleză pe site-ul oficial al autoarei.

Thanks to my cool friend Wyck (who many of you have seen in various Twilight Saga interviews, as he is one of the producers on our movies, and who is a producer on Dear John) I got to see this one early. I will confess, I cried. Also, I discovered Channing Tatum, who I’ve somehow missed until now. Likey. Lots. Amanda Seyfried is entrancing as always, and the chemistry (chemistry is always the crux of a movie for me) between them is lovely. Though the chemistry between Channing Tatum and Richard Jenkins (who plays his father) was my favorite part. Have a great week! Steph

'O reprezinta pe Bella. Este coperta mea preferata si am incercat le pun pe toate 3 intr-una singura. Bella incepe ca fiind cea mai slaba si in pericol si ajunge cea mai puternica, hotarand soarta noii sale familii.'

Breaking Dawn arata cea mai slaba piesa de sah -pionul- si se focuseaza pe cea mai importanta -regina-. Chiar daca pe Bella o vedem de la inceput pana la sfarsit, Stephenie crede ca nu a terminat de descris toate personajele. Povestea lui Leah este neterminata si in viitor ar scrie din punctul de vedera al lui Renesmee.

'Daca ar fi sa continui universul Cullen, - si sincer, o voi face pentru mine, indiferent daca voi publica sau nu- naratorii mei ar fi Renesmee si Leah. Probabil la 5 ani, ceea ce inseamna 16-17 pentru Renesmee.'

Stephenie Meyer Invites 'Twilight' Fan Sites To Personal 'Eclipse' Junket


Author hopes the new setup will bring more in-depth questions than mainstream press. "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer announced a rather surprising publicity move Monday (May 17): She will be hosting her own press junket to promote the upcoming release of "Eclipse."

According to the letter she posted on her website, Meyer explained that she wants to offer her fans something different for this movie release, so she is inviting four lucky "Twilight" fan sites to her own "mini-junket" on Friday, June 18, the week before the film's L.A. premiere.

"For Twilight, I did the normal press junket, for New Moon I got to go on Oprah," she wrote. "Both of these were fun, exciting experiences. However, they both had the same drawback — the interviews were designed for a very broad audience, and because of that, most of the questions were about things you guys have known the answers to for years."

Meyer said she wants her junket to instead focus on in-depth, specific questions from the readers about the "Eclipse" movie, as well as her "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner" novella, out June 5.

The lucky U.S. fan sites picked by Meyer at random out of a hat (of which the author posted photos on her site) are: Twilight Series Theories, Twilight Source, Twifans and Letters to Twilight.

The websites may send one representative plus one guest. Meyer said she drew four replacement sites to be put on a waiting list, should one of the four selected be unable to attend.

"We'll have lunch, hang out, and hopefully have a fantastic time," Meyer promised. "I hope you all can make it! -Steph"

Stephenie Meyer reveals the status of 'The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide'


In another release from the Stephenie Meyer Eclipse fan junket, Twifans.com has gotten the details on progress of The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide - the guidebook which has been on most Twilight  fans' pre-order list for years by this point.

"[I]t's continuing," she said, "It just … it keeps evolving. So then we have to catch up … I don't know. I hope that when it comes out, it's amazing. Because it seems like a lot of effort has been put into it at this point. And it is kind of evolving, and 'let's do this, no let's do this'. It's going to have a lot of great information, and it’s really cool. I think my favorites are the genealogy charts for the Quileutes. They are beautiful....they're lovely . . . So it's my mission that this has everything correct. Which would be great. Hopefully, not forever.....to go on it, we'll see. You know....movies interrupt things a lot. Movies are a time-sucker!"

As you might recall, the Bree Tanner Novella was originally intended to be a part of the Guide, but it was decidedly too long for inclusion in that work. The news of Bree Tanner's release seemed to indicate that the Guide was being worked on, and now that we know Stephenie Meyer's intentions to finish it, there'll be no doubt that the Guide will see the light of day! Still no word on the release date, but this is great news!
